Applications range from 2nd thinning to individual log harvesting and final felling. This is a completely new design with Waratah’s proven parallel crane technology. The main aim of this development was to improve power density and comfort, and to consistently implement the demands of customers on 6 continents. Ergonomics and maintainability were also improved. But first things first.
At the heart of the 204 HVT is a 6-cylinder John Deere diesel engine with a displacement of 6,800 cm³. The machine’s maximum power output is 222 hp for a weight of around 20 t, so it has 25% more engine power per kilo of machine weight than the 183 HVT.
This also enabled us to increase the maximum speed in 2nd gear to around 5 km/h without losing tractive power. As with all Neuson Forest machines, the ratio of tractive force to net weight is well over 1, so tractive force is always greater than machine mass.
